Golden Apple

Luke was nominated to recieve the Golden Apple Award. His paperwork was due on June 9 and we will find out in the fall whether he recieved it or not. I have no doubt that he will get it. He's absolutely committed to what he does for his students and the Special Education Program/Special Olympics, and its very obvious that a 'job-well-done' is just a tiny piece of the Lucas Jaeger puzzle.

ADOPTION TIMELINE

Spring 2011: Pre-applied to AGCI

February 11, 2012: Re-pre-applied to AGCI

February 22, 2012: Pre-application was approved. Next step, complete formal application.

February 24, 2012: Formal application submitted to AGCI

February 28, 2012: We have been officially accepted into the AGCI Ethiopian program and will be the paperwork.

March 1, 2012: We received the orientation packet! The paper process begins.

March 5, 2012: Completed our orientation call AGCI.

March 6, 2012: Filled out the packets and mailed them back to AGCI, along with our first round of adoption fees. Waiting for the next round of paperwork.

June 2012: Completed our workbooks, online trainings and required homestudy documents.

June 26th, 2012: We had our homestudy interview

August 9th, 2012: Officially on the WAITLIST: #117 for a boy, #56 for siblings

August 31, 2012: Waitlist Numbers- #112 for boy, #54 for siblings

September 2012: Waitlist Numbers-#110 for boy, #52 for siblings

October 2012: Waitlist Numbers-#109 for boy, #55 for siblings
November 2012: Waitlist Numbers-#105 for boy, #53 for siblings

December 2012: Waitlist Numbers- #101 for boy, #52 for siblings

January 2013: Waitlist Numbers- #99 for boy, #50 for siblings

March 23/24, 2013: Contacted about a private adoption

March 24, 2013: Carson was born

March 25, 2013: Received legal guardianship of Carson

March 28, 2013: Carson came home from the hospital

April 19, 2013: Officially adopted Carson Mathew Jordan Jaeger! Our forever day!

August 9, 2013: We've been on the Ethiopian waitlist for 1 year. Policies for updated us on the waitlist have changed so we don't know what our rank is on the waitlist.
